...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...
Kaskaskia River at Carlyle.
River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Kaskaskia River at Carlyle.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 21.3 feet, Cabins on the left bank below the gage
begin flooding.
At 23.6 feet, Near this height, wastewater treatmeant ponds along
the left bank are threatened by floodwaters.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.9 feet and rising.
- Recent Activity...The river rose above flood stage on April
3, cresting near 19.9 feet on April 7. Although the river
level fell since then, it has since begun to rise again.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.7
feet early Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
