...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Missouri...Illinois...Kentucky...
Ohio River at Smithland Dam, Paducah, Olmsted Lock and Dam and
Cairo.
.The Ohio River is expected to crest at Smithland and Paducah
Wednesday, and hold steady at Olmsted and Cairo until Wednesday,
then begin a slow fall.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Ohio River at Paducah.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday, April 23.
* IMPACTS...At 49.5 feet, The first gate is closed in the floodwall
in Paducah.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 48.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 48.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 48.5
feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage Wednesday, April 23.
- Flood stage is 39.0 feet.
Instruction:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
