...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...
Big Blue River Near Surprise affecting Polk, Seward and Butler
Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Big Blue River near Surprise.
* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, County road 24 1/2 will begin to flood
downstream of Surprise. In addition, the city park near the gage
site begins to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.0 feet...or right at
flood stage.
- Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the last 24
hours was 7.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 7.1
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
