...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Louisiana...
Amite River At French Settlement affecting Ascension and
Livingston Parishes.
Amite River At Maurepas affecting Livingston Parish.
For the Amite And Comite Rivers...including French Settlement,
Maurepas...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Amite River at French Settlement.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 4.5 feet, Backwater flooding will isolate fishing
camps. Low-lying roads in the Maurepas area will be impassable.
Louisiana Trace will be impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 4.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 3.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late tonight and continue falling to 2.5 feet Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 4.0 feet.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

dangers of flooding.
