* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of south central North Dakota, including the following counties, McLean and Mercer. * WHEN...Until 1045 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Low-water crossings may be inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 626 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have diminished across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional development is possible through the morning and into early this afternoon. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inch are possible in the warned area if additional storms do develop. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Garrison, Hazen, Underwood, Turtle Lake, Max, Riverdale, Pick City, Coleharbor, Butte, Hazen Bay Recreation Area, Beulah Bay Recreation Area, Fort Stevenson State Park, Lake Sakakawea State Park, Strawberry Lake and Fort Berthold.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
