* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Bland, Tazewell and Wythe and southeast West Virginia, including the following county, Mercer. * WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 155 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Bluestone River, Blacklick Creek, Blue Spring Creek, Bratton Branch, Big Branch and Big Spring Branch. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
