Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following
counties, Bland, Giles and Tazewell and southeast West Virginia,
including the following county, Mercer.
* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
areas of slow moving or standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 856 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated bands of moderate to
heavy rain passing over the warned area. Flooding is ongoing
in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen since early this morning.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area as rainfall intensifies overnight as the
storm approaches.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bluefield, Bland, Princeton, Tazewell, Athens and Matoaka.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
