New River Near Galax affecting Carroll, Grayson and City of Galax
independent cities.
New River at Allisonia affecting Wythe and Pulaski Counties.

* WHEN...Until Sunday evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM EDT Friday the stage was 20.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM EDT Friday was 20.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
Instruction:
This remains a very dangerous situation! Stay away from the rivers
until they recede below flood stage. The extremely strong current
will easily be able to carry people and even automobiles away, with
little chance of rescue.
