* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, in southwest Virginia, Craig. In west central Virginia, City of Roanoke, City of Salem and Roanoke. * WHEN...Until 745 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1110 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Back Creek, Bee Branch and Barbours Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, New Castle, Catawba, Sinking Creek and Bent Mountain. - This includes the following locations...
