...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...
Big Creek near Alpharetta affecting Fulton and Forsyth Counties.
For the Big Creek...including Alpharetta...Moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Big Creek near Alpharetta.
* WHEN...Until late Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins and occurs
upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road near
Rock Mill Park. Backyards of homes off Seale Drive and Gunter
Court and portions of the Golf Club of Georgia are under two feet
of water. Backyards of homes off Jade Cove Circle and La View
Circle near Roswell begin to flood. The Big Creek Greenway will be
flooded up to 5 feet deep and will be closed. A large portion of
the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under 3 feet of
water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 PM EDT Friday the stage was 10.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:30 PM EDT Friday was 10.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is near crest just below 11 feet. The
river is expected to begin a slow fall Saturday night.
- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.1 feet on 01/28/1996.
