For the South Fork Shenandoah River...including Lynnwood, Luray,
Front Royal...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...South Fork Shenandoah River near Luray.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to just after midnight tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Water covers yards and fields near the
river southwest of Luray.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:45 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 11.0 feet, or 3.0 feet
below flood stage.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 14.3 feet late this
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this evening.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
15.2 feet on 12/08/1950.
