...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia... Big Creek near Alpharetta affecting Fulton and Forsyth Counties. For the Big Creek...including Cumming, Alpharetta, Roswell...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Creek near Alpharetta. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, minor flooding expands along the creek from near Cumming to Alpharetta and Roswell. Backyards of homes off Seale Drive and Gunter Court and portions of the Golf of Georgia are under a foot of water. The Big Creek Greenway experiences significant flooding up to 4 feet deep with closure of the paths. This especially occurs upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Mill Park. A large portion of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under a two feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:00 AM EDT Saturday was 10.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 1.9 feet Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.1 feet on 09/13/1988. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
