* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, City of Radford, Giles and Pulaski. * WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1250 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Back Creek, Carper Branch, Connellys Run, Adair Run, Cecil Branch, Bentley Branch, Dixon Branch, Corner Branch, Big Reed Island Creek, Craig Creek, Altoona Branch, Big Spring Branch, Big Macks Creek, Crooked Creek and Broad Hollow Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
