Description:
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is ongoing and expected to continue.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following
county, Craig.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations continues. Low-water crossings are
inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several
hours for all the water from these storms to work through local
drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 109 PM EDT, Excessive rainfall during the past 2-3 days as
the remnants of Hurricane Helene moved through the area
continued. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell during this
time frame resulting in excesive runoff of water into area
creeks and streams.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Craig Creek, Dry Branch, Mill Creek and Barbours Creek.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.

mainly rural areas of East Central Craig County
