...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Georgia...
Sweetwater Creek upstream of Railroad at Austell affecting
Douglas and Cobb Counties.
For the Sweetwater Creek...including Austell...minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Sweetwater Creek upstream of Railroad at Austell.
* WHEN...Until late this evening.
* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, minor flooding continues to expand into
the woodlands...fields and parks upstream and downstream from the
gage near the railroad bridge parallel to Joe Jerkins Boulevard.
Most of Legion Park will be flooded with up to 4 feet of water.
Large portions of Garrett Road...Westside Road and Stovall Road
will be covered with 1 to 3 feet of water. Some residential yards
will begin to flood on Windy Lane and Pine Grove Drive.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:45 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 20.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 12:45 PM EDT Saturday was 21.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late this afternoon and continue falling to 11.4 feet late
tonight.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
19.7 feet on 05/06/2021.
