...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina... Broad River In NC At Boiling Springs affecting Cleveland County. .Significant flooding continues across the Broad River valley following historic 5 to 17 inch rainfall accumulations caused by a stationary front interacting with tropical moisture and Tropical Storm Helene. The Broad River near Boiling Springs has crested, and is falling, but remains just above major flood stage and imminently entering moderate flood stage. The river has broken the previous record set on February 7, 2020 downstream near Blacksburg. The river will fall below Action/Advisory Stage by Sunday afternoon. Major flooding of several areas along the river is ongoing, including near Riverfront Dr, Broad River Highlands Dr, Scenic Ridge Dr, Waterway Dr, Broad River Dr, Ellis Ferry Rd, amd Old Ferry Rd. A few homes are inundated. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Broad River In NC at Boiling Springs. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Major Flood Stage. The Broad River has reached levels similar to those seen in August 1940. Devastating flooding of numerous homes near the river within the Abe's Mountain vicinity is likely underway. Significant and record-level floodwaters are inundating lower elevation trails and picnic areas of the Broad River Greenway. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 20.2 feet and falling. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The Broad River at Boiling Springs crested at 23.2 feet on September 28, 2024 at 3:00 PM. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon and continue falling to 3.4 feet Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
