County.
For the South Fork Shenandoah River...including Front Royal...Minor
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...South Fork Shenandoah River at Front Royal.
* WHEN...From late tonight to tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Backwater begins to creep up Luray Avenue
toward the railroad trestle. A riverside parking area at the end
of Luray Avenue is flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:31 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 10.3 feet, or 1.7 feet
below flood stage.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 12.6 feet tomorrow
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow
morning.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
12.6 feet on 03/20/1983.
