Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Appomattox River above Farmville.
* WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water approaches back of homes on Old
Plank Rd, upstream of gage. Parking lot on Elm St. north of Main
St. on southside of river begins to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:05 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 15.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this morning to a crest of 16.5 feet this afternoon. It will
then fall below flood stage this evening.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
16.5 feet on 11/16/2018.
