...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following river in Missouri...
Black River near Annapolis.
River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 48 hours.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Black River near Annapolis.
* WHEN...Until early Friday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, When the Black River gets to this level,
the Highway 21 bridge upstream in Lesterville on the East Fork of
the Black River may start flooding about 6 to 8 hours earlier.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:15 PM CST Monday the stage was 12.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to crest near 17.0 feet this
evening.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.
