Current River near Doniphan affecting Ripley County. .Very heavy rainfall upstream over the past couple of days, in some cases in excess of 10 inches, is causing a significant rise on the Current River. The river is forecast to crest in major flooding at Van Buren Wednesday evening and at Doniphan midday Thursday. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Current River near Doniphan. * WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water begins to flood homes in Doniphan. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:30 PM CST Tuesday the stage was 11.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 28.0 feet early Thursday afternoon.
