Description:
* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, east winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts
40-50 mph expected. The strongest winds will be located along and
west of east-to-west oriented gaps in the local terrain. For the
Freeze Watch, widespread sub-freezing temperatures 14 to 26
degrees possible.
* WHERE...Eastern Cochise County below 5000 feet, Upper Gila River
Valley, Upper San Pedro River Valley, and Upper Santa Cruz River
Valley/Altar Valley.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 10 PM MST this evening. For
the first Freeze Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM MST
Thursday. For the second Freeze Warning, from 10 PM Thursday to 10
AM MST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured outdoor objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down. Localized blowing dust may reduce
visibility especially near and west of the Willcox Playa.
Reductions in visibility will also be possible with blowing snow,
especially Wednesday morning. Frost and freeze conditions could
kill crops and sensitive vegetation and possibly damage
unprotected outdoor plumbing. Hypothermia will occur with
long-term exposure to these temperatures.
Instruction:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Secure outdoor objects.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
