Description:
* WHAT...For the first Small Craft Advisory, southeast winds 20 to
30 kt and seas 12 to 14 ft. For the Gale Warning, south winds 25
to 35 kt with gusts to 40 kt and seas 16 to 21 ft. For the
second Small Craft Advisory, south winds 20 to 30 kt and seas 16
to 21 ft. For the Gale Watch, southeast winds 25 to 35 kt with
gusts to 40 kt and seas 17 to 22 ft possible.
* WHERE...Coastal Waters from Cape Flattery to Cape Shoalwater
10 to 60 nm.
* WHEN...For the first Small Craft Advisory, until 4 AM PST
Saturday. For the Gale Warning, from 4 AM to 4 PM PST
Saturday. For the second Small Craft Advisory, from 4 PM
Saturday to 4 AM PST Sunday. For the Gale Watch, from late
Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
Instruction:
A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
