Description:
* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, southeast winds 30 to 40 kt. For
the Gale Watch, south winds 35 to 45 kt.
* WHERE...Coastal Waters from Cape Flattery to Cape Shoalwater
out to 60 nm.
* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 4 AM PST Tuesday. For the
Gale Watch, from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday
night.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Seas will remain 15 to 20 feet with a
dominant period around 17 seconds over the coastal waters
Tuesday morning through early Wednesday after the winds
subside.
Instruction:
A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
