Description:
* WHAT...For the Hazardous Seas Warning, very steep and
hazardous seas 13 to 18 ft at 16 seconds and south winds 15 to
25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. For the Small Craft Advisory,
Rough bar conditions expected.
* WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar.
* WHEN...Hazardous Seas Warning, until 4 AM PST Sunday. Small
Craft Advisory, from 8 AM to 4 PM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Very steep and hazardous seas could capsize or cause
damage to vessels.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 5.43 kt at 255 PM Saturday.
Seas 12 to 17 ft. Ebb current of 2.44 kt at 327 AM Sunday. Seas
12 to 14 ft. Strong ebb current of 5.79 kt at 335 PM Sunday.
Seas 11 to 12 ft.
Instruction:
A Hazardous Seas Warning means hazardous sea conditions are
imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in
port, or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial vessels
should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in port or
taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.
