.An extended period of hazardous surf and beach conditions will
persist into Monday along exposed north and west facing shores
due to an extra large northwest swell (315-330 degrees) arriving
today. This swell will rapidly build down the island chain and
peak today, and then gradually ease tonight through Monday.
* WHAT...Surf of 10 to 14 feet building to 14 to 18 feet this
afternoon.
* WHERE...North facing shores of the Big Island.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous.
Instruction:
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.
