.Advisory level surf will persist through tonight and much of
Tuesday along exposed north and west facing shores as a
significant northwest (310-320 degrees) swell continues to
gradually decrease. Heights will drop below advisory levels
Tuesday night through Wednesday as the swell moves out. Surf may
decrease below advisory level along Big Island shores by Tuesday
afternoon, but confidence is low.
* WHAT...Surf of 18 to 22 feet tonight and 10 to 15 feet Tuesday
for north facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, and
Maui. Surf of 14 to 18 ft tonight and 8 to 12 feet Tuesday for
west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai.
* WHERE...Portions of Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Niihau and Oahu.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous.
Instruction:
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.
