Description:
* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, southeast winds 15 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 55 mph. For the High Wind Warning, southeast winds 20
to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph tonight, becoming southwest
Thursday morning.
* WHERE...Admiralty Inlet Area, San Juan County, Western Skagit
County, and Western Whatcom County.
* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 10 PM PST this evening. For
the High Wind Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 1 PM PST
Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds through this evening will
be across the San Juan Islands and Admiralty Inlet. There may be a
brief lull in winds early tonight before south winds increase
early Thursday morning. A period of stronger southwest winds may
occur Thursday morning, particularly over San Juan Islands and
Admiralty Inlet.
Instruction:
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees
and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home
during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must
drive.
