Description: 
At 707 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Underwood to Oakland to 2 miles north of Griswold. Movement was north at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail with the strongest storms. Funnel clouds have also been reported with these storms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. * Locations impacted include... Logan, Oakland, Avoca, Treynor, Underwood, Neola, Carson, Walnut, Shelby, Minden, Persia, Macedonia, Hancock, McClelland, Tennant, Old Town Park, Farm Creek Public Wildlife Area, Botna Bend Park, Nishna Bend Recreation Area, and Weston. This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 14 and 48.
Instruction: 
Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the National Weather Service.
