...The National Weather Service in Topeka KS has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas... Solomon River at Minneapolis affecting Ottawa County. Big Blue River near Blue Rapids affecting Marshall County. Solomon River near Niles affecting Saline, Ottawa and Dickinson Counties. Republican River at Clay Center affecting Clay County. Saline River at Tescott affecting Saline and Ottawa Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Solomon River near Niles. * WHEN...From Friday morning to early Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Water begins to overflow into the low portion of a cultivated field on the right bank, upstream, adjacent to the gage site. At 23.0 feet, Rural overflow begins around the community of Niles. At 24.0 feet, Low land flooding continues along the river. At 27.0 feet, Arrowhead Road west of Niles floods. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 29.4 feet Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
