Description:
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2
to 4 feet through the entirety of the prolonged event in the most
persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will result
in areas of blowing and drifting snow at times.
* WHERE...Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties.
The greatest accumulations will be across the Tug Hill Plateau.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 6 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult at times, especially on
secondary roads. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday
morning commute.
Instruction:
Widespread moderate to heavy snow will transition to lake effect
snow that will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
