Description:
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 1 and 2 feet, with locally higher amounts in the most
persistent snow bands. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, and Southern Oneida
Counties.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest snow will continue across the
Mohawk Valley and Tug Hill regions today before shifting southward
through the NY Thruway corridor tonight into Saturday morning. The
bands of snow are then expected to slowly lift back northward
Saturday afternoon into Sunday.
