Description:
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 7 to
14 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high
as 45 mph will produce considerable blowing and drifting snow with
near whiteout conditions at times.
* WHERE...Northern Cayuga, Oswego, and Lewis Counties. The greatest
accumulations are expected across far northern Cayuga County,
central and southern Oswego County, and extreme southern Lewis
County.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with deep snow cover on
roads. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility.
Gusty winds will down tree branches and cause isolated power
outages.
Instruction:
Widespread moderate to heavy snow will transition to lake effect
snow that will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
