Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to
Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM...
At 906 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This
thunderstorm was located 9 nm southeast of Grand Isle. The
thunderstorm was nearly stationary.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.
Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
