Description:
* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following
county, Grant.
* WHEN...Until 545 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. River
flows within the Gila East Fork and Gila River along NM-15 will be
elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 343 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
flooding. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Gila River East Fork, Gila River, Apache Creek, and Copperas
Creek.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Gila River south of Gila Hot Springs and Copperas Vista.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.

matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
