West Central Taos County in north central New Mexico...
* Until 600 PM MDT.
* At 515 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles west of
Velarde, or 12 miles north of Espanola, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
El Rito, Petaca, Ojo Caliente, La Madera, Las Placitas, Medanales
and Chili.
This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 337 and 371.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
