Description:
At 625 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest
of Montoya, or 25 miles southwest of Tucumcari, moving northeast at
35 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Montoya and Newkirk.
This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 300 and 322.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
