Description:
At 710 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 5 miles northwest of Fall River to 12 miles east of
Howard to near Longton, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters 60 mph wind gusts 1 mile north of
Longton at 705 pm.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Neodesha, Fredonia, Longton, Toronto, Severy, Fall River, Benedict,
New Albany, Coyville, Buxton, Batesville, Toronto Lake, Fall River
State Park, Fall River Lake, and Cross Timbers State Park.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas.
