Description:
At 248 AM MDT, two severe thunderstorm was located near Kenna, or 36
miles southwest of Portales, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of Southwestern Roosevelt and Northeastern
Chaves Counties.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Accumulations of hail on roads can create very slick and hazardous
driving conditions.
