* WHAT...South winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt, becoming northwest this evening with gusts around 30 knots possible. * WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Smith Point VA, and Chesapeake Bay and adjoining estuaries north of Smith Point VA. * WHEN...Until noon EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong to severe thunderstorms are anticipated this evening. There may be a lull in the wind this evening outside of thunderstorms, but winds will increase overnight with a few gusts to near gale-force possible.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
