Description:
* WHAT...For the first Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15
to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt and waves 2 to 3 ft expected.
For the second Small Craft Advisory, southwest winds 15 to 25
kt with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 3 to 5 ft expected. For
the Gale Warning, southwest winds, becoming northwest Thursday
25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and waves 3 to 6 ft
expected.
* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Windmill Point VA.
* WHEN...For the first Small Craft Advisory, until 1 AM EST
Wednesday. For the second Small Craft Advisory, from 1 PM to 7
PM EST Wednesday. For the Gale Warning, from 7 PM Wednesday to
7 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
Instruction:
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.
