Laguna Madre From the Port Of Brownsville to the Arroyo Colorado... * Until 1015 AM CST. * At 931 AM CST, a front was located along a line extending from 19 nm southeast of Laguna Madre to near South Padre Island to 12 nm southwest of Boca Chica Beach, moving east at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...The Harlingen/Valley Airport recorded wind gusts at of 38 mph between 841 and 848 AM. These winds are surging across the Laguna Madre and into the nearshore Gulf water south of Port Mansfield. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Torrential rains lasting no more than fifteen minutes will reduce visibility below 1 nm. * Locations impacted include... South Padre Island, Queen Isabella Causeway, Port Isabel, and Laguna Vista.
