Laguna Madre From the Port Of Brownsville to the Arroyo Colorado...
At 955 AM CST, a front was located along a line extending from 27 nm
east of Laguna Madre to 8 nm east of South Padre Island to 8 nm south
of Boca Chica Beach, moving east at 20 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
SOURCE...The Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network buoy at Realitos
Peninsula recorded a peak wind of 33 knots at 924 AM.
Similar or slightly stronger winds are likely near Laguna
Madre Bay and the waters out to 20 nm south of Port
Mansfield through 1015 AM.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Torrential rains behind the front
may reduce visibility to 1 nm or less for fifteen minutes
before the showers move east.
Locations impacted include...
South Padre Island, Queen Isabella Causeway, and Port Isabel.
Instruction:
Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.
