Description:
In the wake of a cold front, strong northwest winds will occur
over the southern Appalachians through around dawn on New Year's
Day. Snow showers are expected to continue along and near the
Tennessee border during the early morning hours, and then
tapering off late morning, perhaps lasting as late as noon north
of the French Broad Valley. Accumulations will range from a
dusting at lower elevations up to 1-2 inches above 5000 feet.
Watch out for slippery spots on roads through Wednesday morning.
