HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band accompanied by winds of up to 40 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 258 PM EST, a lake effect snow band was along a line extending from near Broadalbin to near Hawley. The lake effect snow band was nearly stationary. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... Saratoga Springs, Mechanicville, Hoosick Falls, Ballston Spa, Grafton, Round Lake, Galway, Rock City Falls, Country Knolls, North Ballston Spa, Malta, Greenfield, Hoosick, Lee, Pittstown, Stillwater, Schaghticoke, Valley Falls, Parkis Mills, and Johnsonville. This includes Interstate 87 between exits 10 and 13N. SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this lake effect snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
