Description:
HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is
producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 842 AM EST, a lake effect snow band was
along a line extending from 11 miles northwest of DuBois to
Bellefonte. The lake effect snow band was nearly stationary.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Bellefonte, Boalsburg, Pleasant Gap, Lemont, Zion, Houserville,
Milroy, Penfield, Centre Hall, Milesburg, McClure, Millheim,
Karthaus, Snow Shoe, Clarence, Moshannon, Spring Mills, Force,
Coburn, and Pine Glen.
For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the
Dubois Route 255 and Lamar exits, between mile markers 106 and 164,
but especially between the Snow Shoe and Kylertown exits where 1-2
inches may fall in the next hour.
This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers 75 to 85.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather
situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and
allow extra time to reach your destination.
