Description:
HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is
producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of 1 inch per hour or
perhaps higher.
LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 849 AM EST, a lake effect snow band was
along a line extending from near Bradford to 16 miles southeast of
Wellsboro. The lake effect snow band was nearly stationary.
This includes the following highways...
Route 6 from Smethport to near Gaines.
Route 15 from Trout Run to near Liberty.
Route 219 from South Bradford to the New York border.
State Road 14 from Trout Run to north of Ralston.
State Road 46 from Smethport to Farmers Valley.
State Road 59 near Smethport.
State Road 446 from Farmers Valley to the New York border.
SAFETY INFO...
Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this lake effect
snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads
may lead to accidents.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time to reach your destination.
