HAZARDS...Scattered snow showers with embedded heavier bursts of snow and blowing snow accompanied by winds of up to 30 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 310 PM EST, an area of snow showers was along a line extending from Lock Haven to 16 miles east of Clearfield to 16 miles southeast of Punxsutawney and moving southeast at 25 MPH. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... State College, Lock Haven, Clearfield, Bellefonte, Tyrone, Park Forest Village, Woodward, Northern Cambria, Boalsburg, Pleasant Gap, Philipsburg, Woodland, Curwensville, Lamar, Stormstown, Lemont, Bald Eagle, Zion, Bellwood, and Houserville. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Penfield and Loganton exits, specifically from mile markers 116 to 180. This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers 42 to 85. SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this area of heavy snow. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.
