Description:
Strong northwesterly flow will result in multiple lake enhanced
bands of snow to migrate south and east from western Pennsylvania
through later this afternoon. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches
are possible with localized amounts of 3 inches or more under
more persistent bands. Visibilities could be reduced briefly below
a quarter of a mile at times as these bands of snow push through.
Use caution if traveling along the I-68 and US-40 corridor west
of LaVale, Maryland as well as the US-219 corridor from the PA
line south into West Virginia. Hazardous travel is also possible
at times along US-48 west of Moorefield, West Virginia and into
the Canaan Valley of West Virginia this afternoon. Air
temperatures will remain in the teens with wind chills in the
single digits.
