Special Weather Statement
Urgency:
Expected
Effective:
January 10, 2025 - 12:53pm
Expires:
January 10, 2025 - 3:00pm
Description:
Melted snow on area roadways will quickly re-freeze this evening
as temperatures drop back well below freezing. This will result in
quick development of black ice on any untreated roads this
evening through Saturday morning. In addition, some areas of
freezing fog are likely by late tonight, potentially leading to
significant reductions to visibility. Motorists will need to be
alert to slick spots through Saturday morning, especially on
bridges and overpasses and any untreated surfaces. Allow extra
time to reach your destination and avoid sudden stops or
accelerations. Temperatures in most locations should warm above
freezing by Noon.
