At 248 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Trujillo to near Colonias to 17 miles east of Vaughn. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Santa Rosa, Vaughn, Montoya, Colonias, Yeso, Conchas Lake State Park, Conchas Dam, Puerto De Luna, Newkirk, and Santa Rosa Lake State Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 257 and 317. Highway 285 between Mile Markers 187 and 204. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 266 and 324. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 12 and 85.
